Okay, as I mentioned in a previous "rambling", I have just accepted a new job with the State of Georgia. As with most jobs, my first week has been loaded with various trainings. Although I have only been at the job for two days, I have had the pleasure of having almost 12 hours of training.
Q: Counselor? What are they teaching you?
Psssh.....all kinds of stuff. I have acronyms and "buzz words" coming out of the wazoo. I don't know if I'm coming or going...and I haven't even had CPR and First Aid yet....
(Did I mention that I still don't know the specifics of my job yet?)
I know one thing....there better be a bomb threat or something else

Now, If you're anything like my mom or my significant other, you may be wondering about the details of my job description. Unfortunately, fellow bloggers, I have not had a training breaking down those details--as of yet. Although I don't know about my day to day tasks, I am well-versed on "internet policies", "bomb threat procedures", and customer satisfaction

(special thanks to Traniner X for sharing the riveting video entitled "Give'm the pickle!").

I had the pleasure of meeting with my supervisor for the first time since being interviewed. During our meeting, she made a point to pass on several forms that would be helpful to me. I must admit, it was kinda scary--like I was never going to see her again--and needed to get everything within the hour.

Anyway, she set appointments with me for my 10 day "competency review" and my 45 day "compentency reveiw"....

when they begin to hold me accountable, I sure hope I'm aware of the the location and phone extension to my office....maybe I should look at my training schedule...be right back...

To Be Continued...

Counselor tip of the day: Value the information you're given about people and situations--whether given orally or indirectly. They will always give you a clear picture of what's really going on...Use that picture to help prepare you for the tests that lie ahead.

Counselor tip is once again, valuable info. 'Preciate it. And good luck on the new gig.
