Christmas Carols

Skittles has tagged me! This MeMe is pretty simple: List (at least) five of your favorite Christmas tunes and tag (at least) five of your favorite blog friends to keep the MeMe going. Simple, huh?

My Favorite Christmas Songs

1. "The Twelve Days of Christmas" (I can really get obnoxious when I'm at five golden rings)
2. "Jingle Bell Rock" ( I can wear out any dance floor to this one...)
3. "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" (can't wait to see the cartoon this winter)
4. "Do you hear what I hear?" (I always think of Stevie Wonder during this song...don't ask)

and finally...for the grand finale...

#1 -my favorite christmas song has got to be "Please Come Home for Christmas" by Bon Jovi. And i do like that Mariah joint (except when you were blasting it last night while i was trying to sleep)

#2 how come EVERYBODY else remembers that I DON'T do the meme thing except my main squeeze.....and

#3 how do you expect somebody who doesn't believe in Christmas to have a favorite Christmas song? Expect some smart ass, sarcastic, Ba-humbug-ish comment from "you know who".

p.s. - Lizza wants to see a picture of us for the 100th post. Psshh...yeaaaaaah right.

Bah humbug is RIGHT! But you'll be surprised to know that despite the fact that I don't celebrate Christmas, I do have some favorite holiday tunes that get me a bit 'motional when I hear 'em. To honor your request, I'm gonna do my Meme here AND include the folks who do the versions I like:

#5 Jingle Bell Rock
#4 Wonderful Christmas Time (The Beatles)
#3 Little Drummer Boy (Bob Seager)
#2 Silent Night (The Temptations)
#1 This Christmas (Donny Hathaway)
Best Christmas song EVER!

So take THAT Kiyotoe HA HA!. Us cultured folks can appreciate the holiday without even celebrating it!

Paz...

It's a good thing that I realize that your love for music would outweigh any of your cynicism regarding the celebration of Christmas...

One day..he learn that I'm right about a lot of things...(not all, but definitely...a lot!).

p.s. You mind if we drape your pazling in christmas joy this year??

You are kidding me, right?

I don't have five favorite Christmas songs. The only song I like, I get the lyrics wrong. It goes something like this:

In the meadow, we can built a snowman. Then pretend that he is Parson Brown. He'll say, "are ya' married?" We'll say, "hell no man" but you can get a job while you're in town...

Psst.. I am on your side ;)

Yo, Mist1, you are a sick lady. I think you might need to check those lyrics.

paz, i knew you liked the Temptations joint (we listened to that this morning by the way) but i didn't know you had favorites. My fault Scrooge.

Skittles, I saw that.

Counselor,

You so just called me out. I will dedicate a blog to this soon, but here are my answers for my top five songs not in any particular order.

Special Gift by Donnie McClurkin
All I Want for Christmas by Alvin and the Chipmunks
Silent Night
Comfort and Joy
Little Drummer Boy

That is my list at this point. It may change by the time I do my blog on this.

Mist,

Um, I believe these are the right lyrics to Walking In a Winter Wonderland.

On the main people listen in the lane snow is glistenin. We're singing a song as we go along, walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman and pretend that he is Parson Brown. He'll say, "Are you married?" We'll say, "No man...but you can do the job while your in town."

I forgot the rest.

Counselor, so sorry I'm so late. Please enjoy your much needed break. In case I don't hear from you again, have a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! My favorite songs: Take 6 & Stevie Wonder, "O'Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion";Nat King Cole's "The Christmas Song"; Various Artists, Handl's Messiah, "Halleleuia Chorus" really the whole soundtrack and last but not least, Take 6, "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlmen". Sorry I cheated a little with Handl's Messiah entire CD.
